Professor Anthony Capon directs the global health institute at United Nations University. Tony is a public health physician and an authority on environmental health whose research focuses on urbanization, sustainable development and human health. He is a member of The Rockefeller Foundation–Lancet Commission on Planetary Health which recently published its report Safeguarding human health in the Anthropocene epoch, and of the scientific advisory panel for GEO 6 – Healthy Planet, Healthy People. Prior to joining UNU, Tony held senior academic and public health policy roles with the University of Canberra, Australian National University and the Western Sydney Area Health Service.
